CFY Engagement Teams

The Collaborating For Youth (CFY) Collaborative Board carries out its mission through engagement teams (Community, Family, School, and Youth). The members of the CFY Engagement Teams are “implementers” working alongside the CFYCD staff – implementing identified strategies by bringing folks together and getting initiatives off the ground. At times, this might mean deciding on a plan and how that plan will be enacted.
The role of each engagement team is to continue to refine the logic models established for each Collaborating For Youth priority area (child abuse, substance abuse, violence, depression, and delinquency) through the lens of a particular domain at the county-level.
Community Engagement Team
The Community Engagement Team acts on community risk and protective factors by focusing on implementing environmental strategies through community events (Cannerval), countywide campaigns (Parents Who Host, Sticker Shock), and countywide events (TAKE BACK medication disposals).
Family Engagement Team
The Family Engagement Team acts on family risk and protective factors by focusing on working with families in a variety of settings such as: Functional Family Therapy, Multisystemic Therapy, Integrated Children's Services Planning systems work, and the Strengthening Families Program.
School Engagement Team
If an activity takes place in or is initiated by the school, then the activity falls under the realm of the School Engagement Team. The members of the School Engagment Team work with the members of the Gettysburg and Upper Adams Community Teams to cultivate relationships and act on school risk and protective factors through administration of the Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS) and involvement in the Adams County Truancy Alliance Panel and Conewago Valley's Truancy Court pilot program, and by offering a variety of training workshops through Integrated Children's Services Planning.
Youth Engagement Team
CFY Youth Engagement Team members act on individual and peer risk and protective factors by focusing on working with youth outside of the school schedule through after-school programs, other community centers. the CFY Youth Coalition, and through the Adams County Youth Providers Resource Network.
In continuing to refine the CFY priority risk factor logic models, each engagement team:
- Meets nine times annually (January, February, April, May, July, August, October, November), reporting minutes to the CFY Collaborative Board.
- Meets quarterly (March, June, September, December) with the Strategic Planning committee to align work of the engagement teams through identifying common strategies in education & outreach, resource development (in terms of services) and systems change.
- Makes recommendations for board approval regarding initiatives and actions.
