Local Projects

Local projects are the means through which Collaborating For Youth members implement effective strategies.  Projects maybe diverse but they all tie together by addressing priority risk and protective factors to create positive youth development and positive community change.

Projects may be implemented by CFY program partners or CFY members and volunteers directly through committees and teams.  Where possible, projects are matched with competent community partners, with the CFY Board and staff providing technical assistance and oversight.  At times, projects may require that multiple partners are involved, which is when the project may be managed by CFY staff, on behalf of the collaborative.

CFY projects are approved and overseen by the CFY Board based on data and address the  priority risk and protective factors through changing local conditions (see our logic models in the resource corner to the left).  Collaborating For Youth projects are implemented only where there is a resource gap.  When possible, existing resources are strengthened or built upon rather than duplicating services.  To determine resource gaps or availability, CFY members and staff conduct county-wide resource assessments regularly.
