Strategic Planning

The work of CFY flows out of our mission and our strategic plan. Because we are data driven and utilize evidence-based programs and best practices, our strategic planning process is very important and creates the framework for our decision making. Each year, the entire CFY Collaborative Board and other interested parties come together to engage in another area of strategic planning.cfy strategic planning framework

For the purposes of the overall collaborative work, the CFY Board has adopted a four-year planning process that mirrors the Strategic Prevention Framework used by the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA). The SAMSHA model is modified in that the five steps are condensed into four steps.

Each year the strategic planning process focuses on the next “step.” Of course, strategic planning involves all aspects of the framework at all times, but focusing on a specific area each year allows the Collaborative to develop more comprehensive long-term plans. Sustainability and cultural competence are woven throughout our planning process and our work.
