Veterans Day at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center

Date:  Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Location:  1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA

The Gettysburg Foundation is offering a special discount and programming at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center to honor our veterans on Veterans Day.

Veterans can enjoy free admission to the Film, Cyclorama & Museum Experience at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center. Ticket holders also have the unique opportunity to see the historic Gettysburg Cyclorama painting in a different light.

Remembrance Day Parade

Date:  Saturday, November 20 at 1 p.m.

Location:  Middle St., Baltimore St. & Steinwehr Ave., Gettysburg, PA

Join us in honoring the soldiers and civilians of the American Civil War in this special annual parade.

The parade will line up on Middle Street and then proceed to Baltimore Street and then turn onto Steinwehr Avenue.

The annual event is sponsored by the Sons of Veterans Reserve, the Military Department of the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War.

Remembrance Day Illumination

Date:  Saturday, November 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Location:  97 Taneytown Road, Gettysburg, PA

The Gettysburg Foundation presents the 19th Annual Remembrance Day Illumination in the Gettysburg National Cemetery. The event is subject to weather conditions, health and safety.  The commemoration features a luminary candle on all 3,512 Civil War soldiers’ graves. The fallen soldiers’ names are read throughout the evening. Guests may enter the cemetery through the gate at Taneytown Road or the gate at Baltimore Street. This non-ticketed event is free of charge and open to the public.

Gettysburg’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

Date:  Saturday, November 26 at 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Location: Lincoln Square in Gettysburg

Join GARMA for the annual Gettysburg Christmas Tree Lighting LIVE on Lincoln Square. You can also  live stream the event on the GARMA Facebook page.  Celebrate in person or at home!  Santa will arrive at 6pm to light the Gettysburg Christmas Tree. Free hot chocolate will be offered while you wait for Santa to arrive. Traffic will be stopped during this time so you can have your picture taken with the tree. Santa will then arrive at his Shanty, located on Lincoln Square, to greet all the children, 4-footed included.
