CFYCD After School Program

The Center For Youth and Community Development (CFYCD) offers FREE academic afterschool programs onsite for students in grades K-12 throughout Adams County and outlying areas.

The Strengthening Families Program 10-14 (SFP) for parents and youth (age 10-14) is recognized as a scientifically proven effective program that allows parents to protect and empower their children through communication of family values, their standards regarding substance use, and their hopes for their child’s future.

The Familias Fuertes Program is a Spanish language version of the Strengthening Families Program 10-14. 
Positive Action is being implemented after school at  sites in the Gettysburg Area School District.  Partners include: Respective Solutions Group, 21st Century Learning Program, Gettysburg Area School District and Center For Youth and Community Development.

Collaborating for Youth Partner Programs

Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is a FREE short-term family-based prevention and intervention program for youth ages 11-18, who are at risk for and/or presenting with: substance abuse, delinquency, excessive school absenteeism (truancy), violence, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or disruptive behavior disorder.

Just a few hours a week can change a child's life. Currently looking for Big's and Little's in Adams County. Check out the Big Brothers Big Sisters community mentoring program.
In Adams County Hempfield Behavioral Health is implementing IYS for babies and toddlers, Dinosaur School (small groups for ages 4-8) and associated parent groups. 

Multisystemic Therapy (MST) is recognized as a model program in SAMHSA's National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP), and is a time-limited, intensive family intervention intended to stabilize the living arrangement, promote reunification, or prevent and reduce the use of out-of-home therapeutic resources.
